Physical Therapist / Co-Owner

Cheryl received her Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from Duke University followed by a two year residency program from the Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy. Cheryl's extensive manual therapy training allows her to develop comprehensive clinical approaches for patients with spinal dysfunction and chronic pain.
Her personal interests in pilates and exercise help her to combine manual interventions with exercise to focus on an active, individualized and functional approach to patient care. Cheryl lectures on spine rehabiliation issues, has developed senior citizen community-based and industry-based fitness programs, has worked in a multidisciplinary diagnostic center for patients with spine related dysfunctions, and is an adjunct faculty member for University of Maryland, School of Medicine, Department of Physical Therapy.

Josh focuses his clinical practice on osteopathic manual therapy and differential diagnosis and incorporates neuromuscular re-education as well as exercise prescription to form an individualized rehabilitation program for his patients. He enjoys problem solving "difficult cases", especially when other treatment has failed.
Josh has been in practice in Baltimore since 1998 after earning his Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Maryland, School of Medicine. Josh serves as a consultant for local industry in the area of ergonomic modification and injury-prevention, and provides expert advice for local running groups and tri-athletes. Josh enjoys working with geriatric patients and athletes of all ages, especially those who share his interest in swimming, biking, running, golfing, weight lifting, and martial arts training. He is a competitive runner and tri-athlete.

Temma Bernstein PT, MPT
Member, American Physical Therapy Association
Temma received her Master’s in Physical Therapy from the University of Maryland, School of Medicine in 1998. Temma utilizes her extensive experience in manual therapy and sports medicine to design comprehensive rehabilitation programs for her patients. She has training in vestibular rehabilitation and has helped many patients with vertigo return to functional lives.
Temma’s avid interests in running, biking, skiing and weight training bring a unique perspective to her patient treatment programs.

James C Metivier PT, DPT

JC practices varied manual therapy techniques, such as muscle energy with emphasis on integrating new strategies into his management of patient care. He enjoys focusing on functional gains and tailoring exercise to patient goals.
JC graduated from The University of Maryland, School of Medicine earning his Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2009. Prior to grad school, JC was a college lacrosse player, and continues to play in the Baltimore area. He enjoys working with athletes of all ages and helping those who have a desire to live an active lifestyle. JC enjoys playing golf, cycling and weight training.

Nancy Horney, PTA
Staff Physical Therapist Assistant, Timonium Office

Nancy received her AA degree as a physical therapist assistant from the Community College of Baltimore in 1993. She has worked in the physical therapy field since 1981 where she started as a volunteer in the physical therapy department at Franklin Square Hospital. Her previous clinical experience includes staff positions at Franklin Square and Fallston Hospitals.
Nancy’s outside interests include playing softball, taking long walks, and attending occasional Raven games, along with her normal “mom” duties. Her 14 year old daughter, Michalea keeps Nancy busy with her High School sports and girl scouts.

Janet is a master at multi-tasking. She wears many hats at SSRC as she oversees all aspects of office function. She has over 30 years of experience dealing with insurance companies, and is well versed in insurance company reimbursement, billing. and the issues of all aspects of an office. Janet helps many patients understand the complexities of their health insurance benefits. She has a background in accounting, medical coding and terminology. Janet started her career working in a one girl office for an Internist, but soon worked her way into medical assisting, then supervision. Janet has worked in small and large office settings and loves the family environment of SSRC.
Janet’s interests include spending time with her granddaughter,and her children, walking her dog, crocheting, playing cards with her husband and friends.

Front Desk - Timonium
Donna has been with us since 2005 and is one of the happy faces you'll see when you arrive for an appointment at our Timonium office. She takes charge of the front desk and makes sure that everything runs smoothly. We depend on Donna to keep order at the front desk area.
Before joining us, Donna was the Surgical Posting Coordinator for an ENT Practice.

Jennifer joined our SSRC family in 2007. She is another happy face you'll see in our Timonium location. Jennifer takes care of obtaining Authorizations and making appointments.
Jennifer came to us after working for a Chiroprator as a Tech and also help at the front desk.

Michele Belzner
Billing/Collections
Michele has worked in the medical billing field for 7 years. She loves to go head to head with insurance companies when benefits are not paid correctly.
Michele was previously with a Billing Company which serviced the Physical Therapy community.
